Adat Shalom: A Conservative Congregation
Where Your Family Comes First
Please consider for a moment how membership at Adat Shalom Synagogue can enhance your family life.
Our congregation prides itself on its family orientation. We are a unique institution because we can offer our members the full services and programming of a large congregation, along with the warmth and friendly atmosphere usually associated with smaller synagogues.
With an unusually "young" membership - the average age of our new members is 36 - we are keenly aware of the desires and needs of families with small children. Therefore, in addition to the wealth of our family programming, we have established a reduced membership dues structure for new members below the age of 32. In addition, Adat Shalom members receive a reduction in their nursery school and religious school tuition. Practically speaking, we present you with a "good bargain."
Adat Shalom's dues structure compares well to other large congregations. Members over the age of 32 are expected to pay base dues of $2,150. Of course, families unable to afford base dues may request a reduced rate.
Adat Shalom encourages participation in Synagogue life as early as possible, but recognizes that the level of base dues may work a hardship on potential young members deterring them from membership. Consequently, a reduced dues structure has been formulated. The current rates, subject to annual change, are:
Under age 30...........Free
Under age 32 (Married)..........$1,075
Under age 32 (Single)........$550
32 and over............$2,150
However, while we recognize financial practicalities, our main concern is promoting an affiliation which ensures the continuity of your child's Jewish identity and provides you with the opportunity to participate in this adventure as a family. We encourage you to "join" the Adat Shalom family.
For membership information, please write, call, fax or e-mail our Executive Director Alan Yost at 248-851-5100. He will be very happy to send you membership materials, to discuss the possibility over the telephone, or - better yet - to arrange a convenient time when you can come in with your questions and get to know us better.
